There IS such thing as a free lunch…

… A free $100 lunch and the only catch is to write 250 words about your dining experience. Easy-Shemezy-Hezzy!

This semester I’m doing an accounting subject and we’re writing a case study on the Sydney Cove Oyster Bar situated in Circular Quay. To get a better idea of how the oyster bar operates, the owners generously gave 4 students from each tutorial, the opportunity to go visit the oyster bar for a meal! Luckily, only 4 students (including myself) in my tutorial volunteered (so a ballot wasn’t needed), so I’m a happy, little 23 yr old girl. :)

I am The Seafood Queen. If I could only eat one type of food for the rest of my life, Seafood would be my choice. I realise I’m cheating a bit, because seafood includes so many things… but whatever. It’s a little silly hypothetical to begin with… I know I’ve previously chosen Japanese… but whatever. I’m a girl. I’m allowed to change my mind! Hm.. sashimi… I’m not entirely sure I could eat it “Bear Grylls style” where he literally catches a live fish in a river, slaps it against the ground to kill it, guts it and munches right into it… when the fish is still kind of wriggling… or something… but that’s another story.

Updates are a bit sporadic unfortunately… mainly because uni work is squashing me and writing graduate applications is a nasty time sucking thing. It’s kind of like a catch-22. If I keep up to date with my uni work, I won’t have time to write apps. If I write my apps, I will fall behind for uni and it’s not even guaranteed anything will come out of it. And the thing is, I have a job lined up already! Sigh. I’m hoping something good comes out of this, otherwise, I’ll be an angry Seafood Queen and I’ll eat all your sashimi.

What a fantastic assessment! I wish I had that in uni, I’d complete all my assignments in a flash if they involved rewards as awesome as that.

If you happen to be at UTS, it’s one of the core subjects in the accounting major called MDC – management decisions & control.

I was quite surprised at the generosity of the oyster bar offering these vouchers… but then again, I think they do plan on taking the best assignment and implementing it, so you know, basically we’re just cheap labour. Haha.

But you know, at least the case study is interesting AND it’s a free lunch, so I’m not complaining :)
